3d rendering

My initial idea was heavily based around a scene immediately after the car crash, where (just like in the video copilot tutorial advance time freeze http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/advanced_time_freeze/ ) watching from inside a glass field and the typography of the advert branded itself on indervidual shards of floating glass (from the windshield of the car.) This technique, however required 3d rendering software and after many weeks trying to translate the steps found in this video copliot tutorial into a 3d rendering software that was mac compatible (the tutorial is for 3dx max which is windows only.) i discovered this technique was impossible in any other software as only 3d studio max has a surface mapping feature that enables compatibility with after effects.

here is an example of my simple 3d attempts... (this example was build in maya and made use of the particle emitter, as was the nature of the technique i was aiming for...)
